The Process
From the moment you reach out to the moment your archive is in your hands, here's exactly what happens, and why each step matters.
Every project starts with a free Zoom or phone call. You tell us what you have and we tell you what's possible. No pressure, no obligation, no sales pitch.
This call is the first part of the service. How we show up here is a preview of how we'll handle your materials.
If your project has a deadline, whether it's a reunion, a wedding, or a memorial, we talk about it now, not later. We'd rather tell you upfront if we can meet a timeline than make a promise we can't keep.
If the schedule is full, we'll give you a clear start date and ask you to hold your materials until we're ready to begin. Nothing sits in a queue.
Your materials are in our care for as little time as possible. Intake happens when we're ready to start, not before.
When your materials arrive, every item is logged, labeled, and assessed. You receive a written inventory of what came in.
This is also where we take a closer look at what you have: condition, format, any surprises. Then we come back with recommendations beyond the initial scope if they make sense.
Video is captured in ProRes through a broadcast-grade signal chain, monitored in real time on a professional reference display. Film and photos are scanned at archival resolution.
Every capture happens on an air-gapped machine. No internet connection. No cloud uploads. No third-party access to your content at any point in this process.
Air-gapped workflow: The machine used for capture has no internet connection. Your content never touches an outside server unless you specifically request cloud delivery.
Every file is reviewed before delivery. No corrupted files, no skipped frames, no silent failures. If something didn't capture cleanly, we do it again.
Depending on your project scope, this is also where organization happens: date-structured directories, metadata tagging, and restoration flagging if requested.
Your archive is delivered on a high-quality external drive or via secure transfer, your choice. We talk through who needs access and make sure the right people can get to it.
Your original materials are returned in the same condition they arrived. Everything accounted for, everything back in your hands.
Our Commitment
John Stromme, Founder
That's the standard every project is held to. Not a throughput metric, not a per-tape count. The question I ask at the end of every project is whether I'd be proud to hand this back to someone I love.
That standard comes from somewhere specific: 15 years handling closely guarded content in an entertainment industry where mistakes can't be made. Those habits never fade. They just found a new purpose.
